My plan for today’s post was to share the two places you can find me and HERO’S HOMECOMING today – and I’ll still do that. But first I want to share the unbelievably exciting news that Sarah Wendell from Smart Bitches, Trashy Books not only reviewed HERO’S HOMECOMING, she didn’t hate it! I saw the review on Twitter and inevitably my crappy African internet service chose that moment to crash out, but after several tense minutes of refreshing and watching the little loading circle swirl around and around, the grade appeared in a big pink font:
PHEW! Breathing, breathing, still breathing. If you’d like to read an excerpt from the B+-receiving novella, I’m sharing one over at the Contemporary Romance Cafe. And if you want to hear the story of the B+-receiving novella’s composition during last year’s NaNoWriMo, the fabulous PJ Schnyder has kindly hosted me at her blog.
I’m sort of in two places at once today – I’m in Kansas, preparing for my wedding, and I’m at the Contemporary Romance Cafe probably alienating all my readers by enthusing about my love of gritty, masculine literary fiction. I even share some far-out excerpts!
Release thus far has been beyond fabulous. In addition to an amazing outpouring of support from friends and my fellow Carina Press authors, The Striker’s Chance got 4 out of 5 stars from the inimitable Mandi Schreiner at Smexy Books!
A sexy excerpt from the novel is now live at the Contemporary Romance Cafe, so head on over to check it out! Or you can cruise by my awesome buddy Steph’s blog to see her photographic evidence of release day and link back to another excerpt. As for me, I’m home from work and thinking it might be time for a covert adult beverage!
In about five and a half hours I’ll be on my way to Heathrow to bid a fond farewell to six years in London, but also to excitedly restart the clock on my new life in Johannesburg. In the meantime I’m over at the Contemporary Romance Cafe today talking about endings – what are your favorites?
There’s lots of other exciting stuff coming soon – my first-ever cover reveal, a new title reveal for my holiday novella, and the madness of attempting Camp NaNoWriMo in the same month I’m moving continents. Stay tuned y’all!
