A release-week giveaway is live at Just Contemporary Romance! Comment to win a copy, or just hop on over to read an embarrassing story about my attempt to speak Afrikaans in the Netherlands.
release day for Crossing Hearts!
goodnight Samhain
The sad news in Romancelandia today is that Samhain Publishing will finally be shutting its doors after 12 years. Although The Striker’s Chance released first, Secure Target – released by Samhain – was the first novel I completed and submitted after a six-year writing hiatus. I went on to publish five books with Samhain and as an author, couldn’t fault the outstanding editing, beautiful covers and awesome marketing support I received.
The Samhain site will go dark on the 28th February and their titles will begin disappearing from third-party retailers. There may be a big gap before I’m able to get these titles back up for sale, so if there are any backlist books you’ve been contemplating, now is the time to buy! That goes for any and all Samhain authors whose books you’ve ever enjoyed. Some have built their entire careers on Samhain’s foundations and will be much more greatly affected than me, and I know they’ll appreciate every last penny of support.
Onwards and upwards!

cover reveal: Crossing Hearts
Hello faithful readers! The new Atlanta Skyline soccer romance series is moving along apace, with the manuscript for book #2 in my editor’s inbox and the final proofread for book #1 underway. Book #1 – now titled Crossing Hearts – hits digital shelves on 21 March. In the meantime, though, here’s a super sexy cover to whet your appetite!
New to the U.S. soccer scene, not to mention the English language, compact yet explosive Chilean soccer legend Rio Vidal is driven to define a role on his new team, Atlanta Skyline. But he must also adapt to a new culture—and accept that he can’t do it alone. His beautiful interpreter, Eva, has been his voice, his refuge. But she is becoming so much more. If only he could convince her he isn’t like the other men she’s worked with, players on—and off—the field.
As a translator for pro athletes, Eva Torres is used to dealing with self-interested super stars. But Rio seems different, and she’s blindsided when he locks eyes with her across a church pew. By now, after weeks of close contact with the endearing athlete with whom she shares a language, her thoughts are far from holy. She must remind herself flirtation is probably just his default style. Plus, she’s the only one he can really talk to. But when his ambition threatens to derail his career—and their deepening connection—they’ll both have to lay their hearts on the center line.

new book(s) news!
Hello faithful readers! Long time, no news… until now. After a post-baby hiatus (which I’m calling my extended writerly maternity leave), I am very pleased to announce I have signed a three-book deal with Kensington’s Lyrical Press!
I’m headed back to my roots with a soccer-themed trilogy, featuring the hard-running heroes of Atlanta Skyline, and of course the plucky heroines who tame them.
Atlanta Skyline #1 – tentatively titled Crossing Hearts – will release in March 2017, and is the story of Chilean winger Rio Vidal who has to cope with a new team, a new country, a new language, and attempt to resist the charms of his translator, Eva Torres.
Book #2 will follow in September 2017, and Book #3 releases in March 2018. But I’ll save the details on those stories for later. 🙂
One of these days I will get it together and launch my newsletter, which will include juicy pre-release tidbits from all of the above. For now, though, I’m so pleased to be back in the writer’s chair and finally have a valid excuse for stalking surfing shirtless photos on football players’ Instagrams.

You are welcome.

release day for Short Fuse!
Hey there faithful readers! At long, long last, the second book in the Elite Operators series – Short Fuse – has hit digital shelves. I rewrote this one from scratch about three times, but am so pleased with the final product! Set on a gold mine in a central African nation emerging from civil conflict, I hope Short Fuse packs a proper suspenseful punch alongside its love story. Happy reading!
The glitter of gold drew them together…but danger might blow them apart.
Elite Operators, Book 2
As Nicola Holt, head of social and corporate responsibility for Garraway Gold, takes her seat on a flight to central Africa, she’s excited about making a real difference in a country recovering from civil conflict.
And a blood-pumping bonus? The hot guy she spotted at the gate isn’t just her seatmate, he’s her ride to Garraway’s Hambani mine. He’s also a gentleman, as she discovers when he deftly takes care of a couple of unruly passengers.
Explosives expert Warren Copley is headed for a private contract job in his least favorite industry—gold mining—thanks to a temporary suspension from South Africa’s elite tactical police division, the Special Task Force. But even the darkest clouds have a silver lining, and this one comes in the form of the easy-on-the-eyes redhead who turns out to be his coworker.
As soon as they touch down they realize Hambani isn’t on an even keel. In fact, it’s balanced precariously on the machete-edge of complete destruction. And before they can discover the combustible attraction between them, they’ll have to escape with their lives.
Warning: Contains two strong-willed individuals, a country on the brink of collapse, and a powder-keg attraction with sensual, explosive results.

release day for Thunder Running!
Faithful readers, I owe y’all a blog post on the rather significant event that happened four weeks ago – the birth of our daughter, baby B! Life with a newborn has been as hectic as everyone warned us it would be, so while the full report of B’s birth is TK, I had to pop in and celebrate the release of the third and final installment of The Homefront Trilogy, THUNDER RUNNING!
I really love this novella. Like, really love it. I know authors picking their favorite characters is like parents picking their favorite kids, but the truth is I have a special, deep affection for Thunder Running‘s hero and heroine, Chance McKinley and Tara Lambert. I love Chance’s dry-humored recklessness, I love Tara’s tough-talking complexity, and I love the way they navigate the rough waters between their mile-high defenses to come together and form a whole.
Thunder Running‘s release is bittersweet for me, as at the same time I’m introducing the world to Chance and Tara, I’m also saying goodbye to the guys in Echo Company and stepping off the paths they’re following, leaving them to carry on in readers’ imaginations. I hope you’ve enjoyed their journeys as much as I have, and that Thunder Running offers a fitting end to what I hope is a compelling, satisfying trio of novellas.
If you haven’t gotten your digital copy yet, Thunder Running is available via the links below and wherever else fine eBooks are sold. Happy reading!
